About Taka Moro
A flawless combination of superb Japanese craftsmanship in woodworking and refined taste as a professional jazz musician.
Born and raised in Japan, Taka learned his woodworking crafts from generations of woodworkers who built and repaired Shinto Temples, the most significant and holiest religious institutions in Japan.
At ten years old, Taka started playing guitar and found a particular passion in jazz, which he then went on to study professionally in school in Tokyo.
In 1998, with a relentless desire to immerse himself in jazz, he moved to the jazz capital, New Orleans, alone, without knowing much English. From there, he started learning from the best jazz musicians worldwide and played alongside Grammy-winning jazz pros like Randy Brecker and Eric Marienthal.
Remembering his roots, Taka worked as a professional luthier while playing as a jazz musician. In 2002, Taka worked for Victor Baker in Philadelphia. Between 2004 and 2015, Taka worked as a luthier for Marchione Guitars.
With decades of experience as a professional luthier and jazz musician, Taka brings his superb woodworking skills and music knowledge to every piece of guitar he makes.
When you choose a Taka Moro Guitar, you’re getting more than an instrument; you’re enjoying a legacy of superior craftsmanship and musicianship.
